Building Biology consultancy for healthier homes and workplaces

Talk to a specialist before you decide. Juan Antonio Rivera Vila listens to your situation, looks at the space and helps you decide what to do in your home or workplace.

You don’t need to know in advance whether measurements are needed. Sometimes a conversation and a review of the information about the space are enough; at other times the consultation itself shows that an assessment or measurements would help.

In person, mainly in Catalonia. Online, with no travel needed. In English, Spanish and Catalan.

What it is for

Informed decisions about your space

Many decisions about a home or a workplace affect its indoor environmental quality. A consultation gives you sound criteria to make them with the right information.

Advice is given from a Building Biology perspective. It does not replace the work of an interior designer, an architect or a doctor, nor does it offer any health diagnosis: it provides technical judgement about the space.

  • How to lay out a room and where to place the bed or the desk.
  • Which furniture and materials to choose.
  • How to approach a renovation or a new build.
  • What to consider before buying or renting a home.
  • How to improve the home you already live in.
  • What to do about particular environmental factors and how to reduce certain exposures.

How it works

From your situation to clear decisions

Measurement is a tool within the consultation, not a compulsory step. It is suggested when a decision depends on objective data.

01

Listening to your case

What is happening, what concerns you or what you need to decide, and in what kind of space.

02

Looking at the space

Using the information available, such as photographs, plans, videos or documents about the property, and with a visit when needed.

03

Measuring if necessary

If the case calls for it, an assessment with measurements is proposed to obtain objective data before deciding.

04

Recommending and supporting

Specific, prioritised recommendations, and support while you put them into practice: layout, materials, renovation, purchase or adapting the space.

Options

Online or in person

We start by understanding your situation and, from there, work out what you need.

Online consultation

Remotely, based on a conversation and on whatever information you can share: photographs, plans, videos or earlier reports. Many cases can be guided this way without travel, and it helps decide whether anything else is needed.

From anywhere, in English, Spanish or Catalan.

In-person consultation

A visit to the space, mainly in Catalonia. It allows the property, its installations and its surroundings to be observed, and what to do to be judged on site.

Elsewhere in Spain, and in Portugal and France, travel is considered when the case justifies it.

Not everything can be resolved remotely. Some questions require a visit, an inspection or measurements with professional instruments. If so, we will tell you from the outset.
